Konnichiwa!
Thank you for the member
Christmas letters! It was really nice to get some letters :) I bought some nice
stationary so if people write me letters, expect a cute one in return ;)
Except these next P-days are
going to be a little crazy. We have two concerts this transfer and basically
every p-day is practice. Sooo if my next few emails are short, that's why! This
transfer has got a lot going on. We have zone conference this week with
visitors from Tokyo so its a massive zone conference. (Our apartment is going
to have 8 shimai in it for 3 nights. Yikes!) Afterwards, Kaicho [Mission President] has arranged
for all of us to go to the yuki matsuri [world famous Sapporo Snow Festival]!! I'm excited to see the snow festival
:D In addition to that, all of the zones are having their own zone training
meetings. We are going to be participating in some and giving workshops. Plus
we are going to all of the far areas for exchanges since we didn't get to go
last transfer. We are planning on going to Kushiro next week :D
This past week we had mission
leader kaigi [meeting] and it was really really good. So inspiring and uplifting. I have
really come to love being STL and serving all of the shimai. We went to Kitami
this week and that was really fun to work with other shimai. It was a 5 hour
bus ride and it was quite the adventure coming home in a blizzard. But we made
it back safe :) We had so many tender mercies this week. Little things like the
bus running late after we got to the bus stop late so we were able to get on,
and meeting an investigator we have a hard time meeting.
We had such a good week this
week working with members. One member is the head chef of a famous restaurant
and he held a chocolate making class at the church. Quite a few people came and
it was the perfect finding opportunity. We got a few numbers and made an
appointment! So much more effective than housing. That is the kind of
member-missionary work we need more of. It was so much fun, so natural, and so
productive. Almost all of our lessons this week were with members yayy! So
happy when that happens.
Cant believe its February
already. That's crazy. I really excited for this transfer and for all that it
has in store. Furue s and I are going to be really busy with STL stuff but we
set high goals for our area. We don't have a lot of investigators but we know
that the Lord has prepared people in Moiwa for us. We just need to strengthen
our faith and work a little harder. Our dendo shunin [Ward Mission Leader] cares a lot about numbers
but I know they're not everything. We are trying hard though!
We have few investigators but
please pray for them! Thank you if you already are. I really appreciate
it!
My body feels like its falling
apart (already?!) but I am healthy and happy. I love being a missionary and I
love teaching people the gospel. The cold isn't bad and my dendo fire keeps me
warm :)
Love you all so much!!!!!!!!!!!
Love,
Sugihara Shimai
